OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM THE MANAGEMENT OF IPAM

Dear our valued customers,

Further to the statement issued by Inter-Pacific Asset Management Sdn Bhd (“IPAM”) on 12th October 2022, we wish to advise that Dato’ Dr. Nazri Khan (“DDNK”) has on 14 October 2022 submitted an appeal to the Securities Commission Malaysia (“SC”) seeking for a review of the SC’s decision to impose suspension and sanctions against him (“Review Application”).

Following the Review Application, SC’s Public Register of Licence Holder has been updated to indicate that the suspension of DDNK’s Capital Market Services Representative License (“CMSRL”) for six months does not take effect until the determination of the Review Application by the SC as provided under Section 80(3) of the Capital Market and Services Act 2007 (“CMSA”).

IPAM would also like to clarify its earlier position that DDNK’s “suspension, which is being appealed, is due to administrative breaches and not fund management” in its statement of 12th October 2022.

The SC’s suspension of DDNK’s CMSRL for six months was due to breaches arising from DDNK’s non-compliance with certain requirements under the CMSA, thereby resulting in a breach of the relevant sections of the CMSA.

We would like to reiterate and emphasize that the suspension and sanctions imposed by the SC on DDNK was not due to or related to any mismanagement of funds.

Rest assured that your investment is in good hands and managed professionally by our highly qualified team of investment professionals.
